October 2011 Update

The Vogal Group is pleased to announce the recruitment of two junior Electrical Contract Managers. Their roll will be to support Electrical Contract Managers and the Senior Engineering Manager.  They will obtain and undertake enquiries for all aspects of electrical installation works.  Liaison and communication with clients will be paramount in the preparation of quotes etc. Another part of their roll will be to prepare risk assessment/method statements, discuss labour and material requirements and undertake quality, safety and productivity monitoring.  We wish them well in their new positions.

The training of our Senior Supervisors is continuing with a number programmed to undertake the IOSH Managing Safely course at our own accredited Training Centre on the outskirts of Peterborough.  This training reinforces the company’s commitment to the continuous improvement of our workforce and also, therefore, ensuring a consistent proactive approach to health and safety on all of our clients sites.

Vogal is considering employing a further four apprentices, two mechanical and two electrical, to compliment the apprentices currently undertaking their apprenticeship framework.  The successful applicants would attend Vogal Training one day per week to undertake Performing Engineering Operations NVQ Level 2 and Key Skills also at Level 2 before embarking on the appropriate City & Guilds qualifications.  The other four days of the week they will work with skilled trade’s persons who will pass on their skills to them whilst working on site.  The NVQ Level 3 which is relevant to their trade will be completed in the second and third years of their apprenticeship and this is based from evidence gained from work undertaken on site.  If you are interested in applying for an apprenticeship, please see the current vacancies section of our website.

The Mechanical and Electrical Design, Control and Systems Departments have expanded sufficiently requiring further development of their office based working facilities.  New work stations have been installed.  This expansion will further ensure and improve the service that we provide to our customers.

A stores person has been employed to control and maintain tooling, consumables, PPE etc. This is a dedicated full time position that has been born from necessity.  With the increased volume of work and due to the current and potential number of employees, a view was taken that due to the importance of having the right tooling/equipment, at the right place, at the right time, in a safe condition this would necessitate a full time roll. PAT testing and safety condition checks will be undertaken by the stores person prior to issuing tooling/equipment to site.  Information will be computerised and records will be maintained.

NEWS FLASH

The Vogal Group are please to announce the appointment of Bill Haslam as Electrical Contracts Director.  Bill comes with an unparralleled knowledge of engineering and a detailed understanding of our client's requirements.  A further announcement will be made as to Bill's starting date with Vogal.
