December 2011 Update

The Vogal Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Bill Haslam to the position of Director of the Electrical Department.  Bill is a well-known and respected engineer particularly within the “food” sector. He will head up a “new” team that will be dedicated to deliver the right electrical solution for a client at the right time in the most cost effective manner. Bill will be supported by two recent appointees in Barrie McConnell and Harry Gillies as Contract Managers. Bill will commence this new era for Vogal on January 23rd 2012 and we wish him every success.

With 2011 coming to a rapid end, work for the New Year and beyond is starting to be confirmed.  For the next five years the Vogal Group will be extensively refurbishing three large stainless steel drums at a client’s factory in the heart of East Anglia.  This work is completed between March and August, five days a week, twenty four hours a day.  This is work that we have successfully undertaken for the past three years and the client wanted to retain our services and expertise for the future works for years to come.

With the Christmas period upon us, the Vogal Group will be undertaking a major project in upgrading a tobacco plant in the East Midlands. The works will include the removal of redundant machinery and services and the installation of new replacement equipment. Again, this will include day and nightshift working to achieve the client’s required schedule.

With the successful completion of a trial maintenance programme at a food manufacturing company in the Wisbech area, the client has extended and expanded upon this programme to include “call out” cover for breakdowns whereby Vogal will support the client’s own maintenance team.

A further four Vogal employees have successfully completed the IOSH Managing Safely course at Vogal Industrial Training in Peterborough. This extends the number of Contract Mangers, Supervisor’s and Leading hands that have completed this course.  This extensive training programme will ensure the continued proactive safety record that we are proud of at our client’s sites.
