Vogal Group deliver M&E Projects.

Our specialist mechanical services team recently replaced and repositioned 4 slam shut off valves for a powder delivery system. This work provides improved access to conduct future maintenance tasks.

The powder delivery system is an automated material conveying system. It is used to safely, efficiently, and precisely move bulk powders from storage or unloading stations to various processing stages. The slam shut off valves act as critical safety devices. They are designed to rapidly and completely stop the flow of powder in the event of an abnormal condition. Their primary function is to provide an additional layer of protection. This prevents equipment damage, product loss, and potential safety hazards (such as dust explosions if a pressure failure occurs).

Each valve weighed 150Kg and needed to be lifted into position, supported and installed, whilst our mechanical engineers worked at height. This meant the assessment of safety considerations was critical before and during this work. Supporting the valves in the new positions required some innovative thinking from our specialist mechanical services team.

Our customer is a manufacturer serving the construction and transport sectors, supplying specialist flooring and wall cladding systems. They tasked us to complete this specialist mechanical services work because they had full confidence in the Vogal Group team. This was as a result of work we had previously successfully conducted on their site.
