Apprentice Award Raffle Prize
28 October 2025
We were pleased to take part in the recent Peterborough Telegraph 2025 Apprenticeship Awards. This was our first time at the awards evening.
A raffle during the evening to raise funds for Charity Partner Aphasia Support raised £1,670. Aphasia is a language disorder which affects a person’s ability to speak, read, write and understand language and is often the devastating result of a stroke or head injury. There are an estimated 350,000 people living with a diagnosis of Aphasia in the UK. We donated the first prize for the raffle; 2 tickets for any round of the British Superbike Season including hospitality (worth £500 ish).
Most people nowadays know Vogal Group as a specialist M&E contractor that helps them improve their commercial and industrial installations and premises. Many don’t know that we were once involved in motorcycle racing. This started in 1992, sponsoring a rider in Moto GP. In 1995 our Chairman, Ben Atkins, established the Reve Racing superbike team. The team partnered with Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. in the World Superbikes Championship. Reve Racing then moved to compete in the British Superbike Championship, partnering with Ducati Motor Holding in 1997. Red Bull came on board, as main sponsors, in 1998. Reve Racing won the British Superbike Championship in 2001. Ben’s Grandchildren, Frank Bird and Jordan Bird, now run a very successful Ducati race team PBM Racing Team Limited in the British Superbikes and it’s through this relationship that Karen Lloyd was able to organise this brilliant raffle prize.
