Mature Apprentice Shortlisted
4 September 2025
Chris Patrickson is a mechanical supervisor with Vogal Group with an aspiration to become multi-skilled. He has therefore, enrolled as a mature engineering apprentice on an L3 Electrotechnical apprenticeship with Stamford College. He has been shortlisted in the Peterborough Telegraph Apprenticeship Awards.
He has proven mechanical skills and the ability to supervise staff. He takes responsibility to complete work safely, on-time, to a high level of quality, whilst complying with health and safety. He is keen to pass on his knowledge to our mechanical apprentices, maintains good communication and a pleasant working atmosphere. His attitude and work ethic has been recognised with ‘employee of the month awards'.
Chris juggles family, work, college and his apprenticeship without compromise. This commitment has been recognised with his shortlisting in the Peterborough Telegraph Apprenticeship Awards. He is a finalist for Engineering / Manufacturing Apprentice of the Year. We quite rightly celebrate young talent with apprenticeship awards, but we believe this is an opportunity to also recognise a mature-age apprentice. In our opinion, Chris is an outstanding contender for this award. This is due to his commitment to learning, other apprentices and making our work sites happy and safe places to work. The awards evening takes place later this month. Good luck to all the finalists.
