Mechanical Design + Industrial Installation

Vogal Group completed a project that was a good example of our mechanical design and industrial installation teams working together. Our food and beverage sector customer tasked us with replacing a product tank assembly.

This involved conducting an initial site survey and utilising existing site drawings of the tank and the surrounding steel work. We designed the product inlet and outlet pipework with the inclusion of a bypass line (the non-yellow sections of pipework in the picture above). The yellow pipework was the existing pipework that was not changed but was connected to our newly designed pipework. The pipework was modelled and drawn using SOLIDWORKS. Finally, we installed the new vessel along with associated pipework.

The purpose of the project was to reduce the amount of steam consumed during production. An additional benefit was that secondary downtime, for cleaning the heaters, was also reduced. This project has resulted lowered the carbon footprint and significantly reduced the cost of production.
