Our structural steelwork team successfully engineered and installed a platform extension featuring a new pallet safety gate for a manufacturing customer. The existing platform was too small to safely accommodate two pallets and allow personnel sufficient space to move around the product during operations. Our solution addressed both our customer's need for a larger footprint and the required safety upgrades.

We provided in-house, end-to-end services for this project. Our engineering design team managed the structural loading calculations and technical drawings. While our structural steelwork team handled the fabrication and installation of both the platform extension and the pallet safety gate.

The pallet safety gate is a crucial safety device designed to allow material to be moved onto or off the platform while continuously maintaining a safe barrier between personnel and the edge of the platform. Its primary function is to eliminate the risk of an operator falling from height. When the outer gate is open to accept a pallet, the inner gate is closed, preventing operators from accessing the edge. Once the pallet is secured and the outer gate is closed, the inner gate can be opened, allowing workers safe access to the pallet.
