Happy New Year!

Every business has its own story of its journey, from start-up to where they are today. Ours started in 1983, when Vogal Industrial Installations was established by our chairman, Ben Atkins. He had spent several years working self-employed and was encouraged by an international customer, to start his own business. Ben and his wife, June, relocated from Nottingham to the Peterborough area. June played a crucial role in running and developing the business from a makeshift office in their home. Initially industrial mechanical installations and maintenance were provided.

Our first unit was purchased in 1990, and as we continued to grow, a plot of land was acquired, and a larger office and workshop was built in 1998. Rob Gault joined us in 2000 as a Contracts Manager. He quickly progressed to Contracts Director and ultimately took on the role of Managing Director. In 2017, we moved to a new development in Kingston Park, Peterborough, where we remain today.

The business was started with just one customer, the one that initiated it all. As the business grew, we added capacity and capability. This included an industrial and commercial electrical services team, CDM project management and engineering design. We started mechanical and electrical apprenticeship training to assist in developing young tradespeople. We now serve many local, national, and international customers across a broad range of manufacturing sectors and industries. Most recently, we have added a building and development company that constructs industrial units for lease and rental. All these business offerings operate under the Vogal Group brand.
