Turnkey M&E Project Completed

Much of our work helps to address a ‘problem’ faced by an industrialist. In this example, the safe and efficient disposal of old carpets and surplus carpet material is an environmental problem. Approximately 500,000 tonnes of end-of-life carpet are produced in the UK every year. The majority is either burnt for energy or sent to landfill. In landfill, the synthetic materials, used in carpets, take thousands of years to decompose and contribute significantly to global warming.

In this Turnkey M&E project, our customer created a process that provides a more sustainable solution. They produce reclaimed polypropylene fibre and pellets from end-of-life carpet. These are used in a wide range of products and manufacturing industries.

The Vogal Group contribution was the reconditioning of the building interior and relocation and installation of the process machinery. This included a fully compliant electrical installation. This time-lapse video shows the factory interior from start to finish.
