Vogal Group been shortlisted in the finals of the Cambridgeshire SME Business Awards for the Peterborough Employer of the Year.

Employer of the Year

2 May 2025

We’re pleased to announce that we’ve been shortlisted in the finals of the Cambridgeshire SME Business Awards for the Peterborough Employer of the Year.

Our entry aims to demonstrate to the judges that we are one of the top industrial engineering SMEs in Peterborough. We have provided evidence to show why we think Vogal Group deserves the title. Over the last 12 months we have:

  • Developed a 5-year business strategy to achieve growth.
  • Expanded our capabilities and experience by recruiting key personnel (such as electrical contract managers) with expertise from working in other sectors, such as the NHS, Government departments and local councils.
  • Improved our capability by recruiting an In-house engineering designer and a full-time, Health, Safety and Environment Manager.
  • Employ local labour and have recruited several engineers to work on our customer sites.
  • Got Veriforce CHAS certification. This provides evidence that we proactively manage health and safety arrangements.
  • Become business partners with the Greater Peterborough University Technical College (GPUTC). We are involved because we want to identify individuals, at 17 onwards, to take up an apprenticeship.
  • Sponsored the relaunch of the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust (NWAFT) Men’s Network Health Event. This raised awareness for men's health issues such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention.
  • Giving back by supplying free labour to help with community projects such as a food bank in Whittlesey. We also contributed towards supplying equipment for a local schools play area and donated money to local charities.
  • Sponsored the Numplumz mountain bike racing team. They are a non-profit making organisation, and as well as taking part in racing, organise an annual charity Mountain Bike Marathon with all proceeds going to local charities.

Hats off to all the other finalists and we look forward to the awards evening in June.
