We completed an LPG Earthing conversion, transitioning the site to a dedicated TT (Terra-Terra) earthing system. Bulk LPG storage tanks present high-risk environments due to static buildup and flammable materials, making specialised earthing critical.
🛠️ The Technical Approach:
- Isolated Protection: Shifted to a TT system because the existing setup could not safely support the LPG infrastructure.
- Low Resistance Target: Installed multiple earthing rods to successfully achieve a reading well below the required 10 ohms.
- Complete Bonding: Securely bonded all exposed conductive parts, including the bulk tank and structural pipework.
- Fault Protection: Integrated specialised Residual Current Devices (RCDs) to ensure instant disconnection during a fault.
