Industrial pre-demolition is the process of preparing an industrial facility and its surroundings for demolition. We address all equipment, piping, utilities, electrical, instrumentation, vessels and containers (e.g. tanks) directly or indirectly associated with a process area or plant site. It is an essential step to ensure the subsequent demolition runs smoothly and safely with no detrimental environmental impacts.
We prepare our industrial pre-demolition projects carefully, beginning with a site survey to create an accurate plan of action. A subsequent industrial pre-demolition project typically includes the following steps:
- Decommissioning of machinery and plant assets.
- Preparation of Equipment For Maintenance (POEFM). This involves clearing, cleaning, disconnecting, and tagging.
- Disconnection, isolation, and termination of electrical services.
- Air gapping and isolation. Creating an easy to see and provable gap between what stays and goes.
- Dismantling, recovery, removal and disposal of equipment that is not part of the demolition scope.
- Managing the decommissioning of utilities such as gas and energy supplies.
- Physical removal and disposal of assets.
- Customer audit and signoff of the pre-demolition phase ahead of the demolition phase.
